Honey Bees Finally Visit

12 September, 2011 (16:06) | Agriculture, Environment, Vermont | By: Peter Kinder

For six weeks, goldfinches offered almost non-stop entertainment on our bird feeders.  Day-before-yesterday, they disappeared with the exception of one stray male this morning.

For black and yellow color, I thought, we’ll have to rely on bumble bees until it turns cold.  Then I looked in our garden and to my great surprise – and pleasure – found these tawny new visitors.
